Austin Fire & Flood is looking for a dependable, hardworking Restoration Technician to join our mitigation team. When a home or business is damaged by water, fire, mold, or another unexpected event, our team is often one of the first on site. We remove damaged materials, clean and dry affected areas, set up equipment, document the damage, and help customers through what can be a pretty stressful situation. No restoration experience? That's okay. We will train the right person. You don't need to know how to use a moisture meter or set up a dehumidifier before you start. We'll provide paid, hands-on training and teach you our restoration processes, equipment, documentation, and safety procedures. What we can't train is reliability, work ethic, and attitude. We're looking for someone who shows up, works hard, takes direction, helps the team, and wants to learn. Experience in construction, demolition, remodeling, maintenance, moving, landscaping, HVAC, plumbing, warehouse work, or another hands-on field can be helpful, but prior restoration experience is not required. What You'll Do You'll work with your crew on residential and commercial properties throughout the Austin area. Depending on the job, you may: Extract water and help dry structures Set up and monitor air movers and dehumidifiers Remove damaged drywall, flooring, insulation, cabinets, and other materials Assist with fire and smoke cleanup Assist with mold remediation Clean and sanitize affected areas Move and protect furniture and personal belongings Take photos, moisture readings, and document work performed Load, unload, clean, and maintain equipment Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe Communicate professionally with customers and your team Some days you'll be tearing out wet drywall. Other days you may be setting drying equipment, cleaning after a fire, packing a customer's belongings, or helping on a mold remediation project.   • 24 per hour, based on experience Paid, hands-on training Schedule and weekly hours vary based on job volume and customer needs This is a workload-based position, so a minimum number of hours per week is not guaranteed Some jobs may require early mornings, evenings, or extended days depending on the situation Participation in a rotating after-hours and weekend on-call schedule is required Restoration work can be unpredictable.
Some weeks are busier than others, and emergency jobs don't always happen during regular business hours. We're looking for someone who understands that flexibility is part of working in the restoration industry.
