Job Description
Toolmaker / Mold Maintenance Technician Join a growing precision manufacturing team supporting high-performance injection molding operations. We are seeking an experienced Toolmaker / Mold Maintenance Technician to perform mold repair, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal tooling performance and production uptime. Responsibilities Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plastic injection molds and hot runner systems. Operate toolroom equipment including manual and CNC mills, lathes, surface grinders, and precision hand tools to repair and improve molds. Inspect tooling, identify wear or damage, and repair or coordinate replacement of mold components and hardware. Support tooling improvements while collaborating with engineering and tooling teams to maximize mold performance and reliability. Utilize precision measuring and inspection equipment while maintaining a safe, organized work environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Journeyman Tool & Die certification/apprenticeship preferred. 5+ years of experience in toolmaking, mold maintenance, or mold repair within a high precision injection molding environment. Experience with plastic injection molds, hot runner systems, troubleshooting, and reverse engineering preferred. Strong experience with Medical Device injection molding. Proficiency operating manual and CNC toolroom equipment, including mills, lathes, and surface grinders. Working knowledge of injection molding processes, mold components, precision measuring equipment, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and forklift operation.
