- Fabrication Specialist The Fabrication Specialist is a highly technical, hands-on manufacturing and product development professional responsible for expanding, optimizing, and supporting the company's ability to design and produce custom trophies, awards, plaques, medals, engraved plates, recognition products, and other specialty products.
This role sits at the intersection of manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, product development, production, equipment, quality, and process improvement. The position is responsible for understanding how products move from concept to prototype to finished goods and determining the scope, equipment, technology, materials, manufacturing processes, and workflows required to make that happen efficiently and consistently. This is not a role limited to operating individual machines. The Fabrication Specialist is expected to understand the overall manufacturing process , identify opportunities to improve or expand manufacturing capabilities, and take ownership of technical challenges from concept through execution. This may include designing a custom fixture, determining how a new product should be manufactured, troubleshooting a production process or manufacturing equipment, or partnering with Product Development, Business Development, Production, and Operations to turn a one-of-a-kind concept into a realized production process. Essential Work Requirements Custom Manufacturing & Product Development for Business Development Perform hands-on product development, fabrication, assembly, modification, and testing of custom products, prototypes, fixtures, tooling, and production solutions from initial concept through production. Set up, operate, and work directly with manufacturing equipment, machinery, hand tools, power tools, materials, and production processes necessary to develop and produce custom products and prototypes. Build and test prototypes and proof-of-concept products and manufacturing processes to determine manufacturability, quality, functionality, durability, and production feasibility. Perform hands-on troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment, tooling, materials, prototypes, and production processes and implement practical solutions to technical or production issues. Work collaboratively and in person with Production, Product Development, Operations, Business Development, and other employees to execute custom manufacturing projects and resolve technical and manufacturing issues. Develop, document, and implement manufacturing processes, production methods, and process improvements for successful custom projects and prototypes as they transition into production. Qualifications Significant hands-on experience in manufacturing, machining, fabrication, CNC, engraving, laser processing, or a related technical production environment. Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, machinery, tooling, and production processes. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to understand how equipment, machinery, tools, materials, and manufacturing processes function. Ability to translate product concepts, designs, or technical requirements into practical manufacturing processes. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production, product development, operations, and cross-functional teams. Strong commitment to workplace safety, product quality, manufacturing quality, and continuous improvement. Compensation & Benefits $55,000
