Job Title:
Manufacturing Technical Lead Job Description We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to support manufacturing operations, process improvements, equipment performance, safety, quality, and production efficiency. This person will work closely with production, maintenance, suppliers, and internal teams to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, and support day-to-day plant operations. Responsibilities Propose, evaluate, and support improvements to manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling. Support plant goals related to safety, quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost. Coordinate the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment to support production needs. Analyze tooling, equipment, and process concerns to determine the appropriate corrective actions. Provide technical support and training to plant operations teams as needed. Partner closely with production, maintenance, and supplier teams to ensure timely completion of projects. Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving efficiency, and maintaining strong quality standards. Assist with maintaining compliance to plant safety, environmental, and quality standards. Support robotics and automation systems, including Fanuc robotics. Help oversee day-to-day technical needs within the assigned manufacturing area. Provide guidance and support to a small team of employees when needed. Communicate effectively with internal teams, external suppliers, and business partners. Essential Skills Process engineering and manufacturing engineering expertise. Technical experience required; engineering degree preferred. At least 1 year of automotive manufacturing experience preferred. Experience working with Fanuc robotics and automation systems. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, tooling, and plant operations. Ability to troubleshoot equipment, tooling, and process-related issues. Strong safety and quality mindset. Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned tasks. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with pretreatment, chemistry, or chemical application processes is preferred. Leadership experience or the ability to support and guide a small team is preferred. Work Environment This role is onsite at the GM Wentzville Assembly Plant within the Paint Department. The work environment is hands-on, fast-paced, and plant-based, with responsibilities tied closely to production, maintenance, robotics, pretreatment, chemistry, safety, and quality standards. The position requires flexibility to work across all three shifts. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, but weekend work and overtime are expected based on business needs. Once fully trained, the schedule may move from 8-hour shifts to 12-hour shifts, such as 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This is a 52-week contract assignment, fully onsite with no remote option. No travel is required. Candidates should be comfortable working in a manufacturing plant environment and adapting to changing weekly priorities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wentzville, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
