We currently have two (2) openings for full-time On-Site Maintenance Desk Specialist for MDOT MTA's OOC (Maryland Transit Administration's Operations Control Center) located in Baltimore, MD. Under general supervision, the candidate develops, implements, coordinates, and performs the activities and operations of the Maintenance Desk Specialist within the MTA's OCC; works with the Maintenance Departments and Operations Control Center to monitor radio and phone transmissions, along with the railroad management information systems, coordinate and verify work locations, notify departments of any incidents or unusual events, enter data into the MTA's asset management and maintenance management system, and participate in any required calls or meetings. The candidate will support the Deputy Chief Operations Officer for Rail, provide program and process coordination, and the responsibility for the execution of and adherence to guidelines and procedures. Must possess the ability to prioritize work, distribute timely notifications, accurate data input, verification of maintenance assignments, and assist in the coordination of construction and maintenance activities to optimize use of available track access. In addition, the candidate will work with the maintenance departments to ensure that data within Maximo is accurate, will monitor the management systems: Advanced Information Management Systems (AIMS) and Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) and notifies the asset owner of any out of normal indications. Closely monitor alarms and notify maintenance departments responsible. This position offers 2 shifts respectively - one (1) AM shift 5 am to 1 pm and one (1) PM shift 4 pm to 12 am, Monday - Friday. Candidates with a minimum of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Maintenance Dispatcher, Data Analyst or Rail controller or possess a high school diploma, GED or recognized equivalent will be considered. Candidate must have data entry experience, be able to utilize Microsoft Word & Excel programs, and complete and pass required training program. Candidate must also be willing to work off-hour shifts, weekends and holidays, and be subject to overtime. Also, must possess a Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
