The Water Plant Operator monitors and maintains water production and distribution plant equipment, infrastructure and systems in accordance with State and Federal requirements. The Operator tests and measures water samples, records data and maintains the plant logbook. The operator also assists with disinfecting the water delivery trucks and assists pipe utility maintenance crews as required. Qualifications High School Diploma or the equivalent Two (2) years' experience in water treatment and distribution operations Special Requirements Possession of State of Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) certification in the following (or ability to obtain them within 18 months of employment): Water Treatment Level I Water Distribution Level I Miscellaneous Information The schedule for this position includes weekend work.
