The City of Alabaster is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Grade IV Operator to join Alabaster Water.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
The Grade IV Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of water facilities and associated equipment.Essential responsibilities include:
Operates, monitors, and maintains water plant systems and equipment. Monitors treatment processes and makes appropriate operational adjustments to maintain efficient plant performance and regulatory compliance. Performs routine sampling, testing, process-control analysis, and equipment inspections. Monitors pumps, motors, chemical feed systems, generators, instrumentation, alarms, and SCADA systems. Maintains knowledge of applicable ADEM and EPA regulations, permit requirements, and treatment standards. Reviews operational data and identifies conditions requiring corrective action or adjustments to treatment processes. Performs routine equipment calibration and preventative maintenance activities. Maintains accurate operating logs, testing records, inspection reports, and other required regulatory documentation. Assists in identifying and responding to equipment failures, process abnormalities, alarms, and emergency conditions. Follows established safety procedures and promotes a safe working environment. Performs other related duties as assigned to support operations.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Active Alabama Grade IV Water Operator Certification required Ability to maintain accurate operational and regulatory records. Ability to safely operate and maintain equipment. Must be able to work the assigned 7-on/7-off schedule , including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
