Helps to oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and compliance of water treatment, storage, and distribution systems, including specialized iron and manganese removal filtration systems. Manages wastewater treatment facilities, sewer collection networks, lift stations, and stabilization ponds to ensure efficient and compliant processing. Assigns tasks, schedules work, monitors operator daily routines, and provides continuous technical and safety training to department personnel. Coordinates and logs regular water/wastewater testing to ensure 100% compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and tribal standards; maintains flawless record-keeping for monthly water samples and emergency logs. Directs the safe operation, inspection, and maintenance of the department's heavy motorized equipment (e.g., water trucks, dump trucks, backhoes) and electrical control systems. Enforces all safety protocols and workplace guidelines to safeguard the physical health of staff and the general community. Manages material inventories, drafts technical reports, submits supply requests to the Director, and assists with operational planning. Remains available for on-call rotation, weekends, holidays, and emergency responses as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
