ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The Process Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of equipment involved in the biosolids drying process, as well as dump trailer loading and unloading activities. Serving as the eyes and ears of the Chief Operator on the plant floor, the Process Operator monitors system performance, records operating parameters, identifies abnormal or out-of-specification conditions, and implements corrective actions to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable plant operations. Rotary Dryers Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers (RTOs)
Polymer Make-Down Systems Reciprocating and Centrifugal Pumps Pneumatic Conveyance Systems Screw and Belt Conveyors Electrically and Pneumatically Controlled Valves Chemical Feed Systems Batching Tanks and Dry Bulk Storage Vessels Service Air Compressors Additional Duties Include:
Collect sludge, filtrate, cake, and pellet samples for process monitoring and quality assurance. Record and maintain accurate operating data, including flows, temperatures, pressures, and other process parameters. Monitor process performance and maintain operating conditions within established guidelines. Notify the Chief Operator of upset conditions, equipment malfunctions, or process deviations. Perform minor equipment maintenance, lubrication, and housekeeping activities. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Assist with dump trailer loading, unloading, and material handling activities. Comply with all plant safety, environmental, and operating procedures. Physical Requirements Perform duties requiring frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, bending, and lifting. Work in industrial environments and perform strenuous physical activities as required.
