Job Title:
Technician Job Description The Technician is responsible for maintaining a continuous flow of quality energy to support optimal plant operations. This role focuses on controlling energy systems, maintaining proper steam pressure, and ensuring effective water treatment processes to keep operations safe, efficient, and compliant. Responsibilities Control energy systems to support plant operations and maintain a continuous flow of quality energy. Maintain and adjust steam pressure to meet plant operating requirements. Perform water treatment duties, including monitoring and adjusting treatment processes. Sample and test water and process streams to ensure cleanliness and quality standards. Monitor processes and equipment to ensure clean water and proper system performance. Adjust treatment processes based on test results and process conditions. Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Conduct light maintenance tasks on equipment as needed to support preventive maintenance efforts. Operate a forklift safely and efficiently as part of daily plant operations. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines when working around chemicals, pressurized steam, and other plant hazards. Assist with production and manufacturing activities as needed in a plant, agricultural, or construction-related environment. Essential Skills Experience in a production or manufacturing environment. Background in agricultural, farm, or construction-related work (2+ years preferred). Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment checks and light maintenance. Basic electrical understanding in an industrial or construction setting. Experience with preventive maintenance activities. Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Refinery, plant, or similar heavy industrial exposure is strongly preferred. At least 1+ year of forklift experience. High school diploma or GED. Ability to work safely around chemicals, pressurized steam, dust, heat, noise, and fumes. Ability to follow procedures for water treatment, sampling, and testing. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience in energy systems, boiler operations, or steam systems is a plus. Comfort working in confined spaces and in both indoor and outdoor environments. Strong attention to detail when monitoring processes and adjusting treatment systems. Good communication skills to report issues and coordinate with team members. Reliability and willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts, including days and nights. Commitment to safety and adherence to all plant safety policies and procedures. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position operates in both indoor and outdoor areas in all weather conditions. The role involves working in confined spaces and around chemicals, pressurized steam, dust, heat, noise, and fumes in a busy industrial plant environment. The schedule follows a rotating 12-hour shift from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., alternating between day and night shifts as required. The dress code is casual at the start, with steel-toed boots required. The company provides all other necessary safety equipment and work uniforms after onboarding, supporting a safety-focused, hands-on work setting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nevada, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
