Commercial BWR Nuclear Generating Station Position Summary Our client is seeking experienced Non-Licensed Operator Consultants to provide direct field operational support at a commercial BWR nuclear generating station. With a significant portion of the Operations organization attending qualification and licensing programs, supplemental field operators are needed to maintain daily operational activities. This is a highly hands-on role focused on equipment operation, field rounds, valve manipulations, system alignments, clearances, equipment status verification, and plant configuration control. Candidates should possess strong knowledge of nuclear plant systems and have experience operating equipment in a commercial nuclear environment. We are seeking operators who are comfortable in the field, understand plant equipment, and can independently execute operational activities safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Perform routine and specialty operator rounds throughout the plant. Operate valves, pumps, breakers, dampers, and associated plant equipment. Execute complex system lineups and equipment alignments. Support equipment clearances and tagging activities. Verify clearance boundaries and plant configuration prior to maintenance activities. Develop and review isolation plans for plant equipment. Support work order planning by evaluating system impacts and equipment availability.

Read and interpret:

P&IDs System Flow Diagrams Valve Lineup Sheets Clearance Packages Operating Procedures Perform surveillance testing and equipment checks. Verify component position and plant equipment status. Troubleshoot equipment abnormalities and communicate findings to control room personnel. Support startup, shutdown, maintenance, and testing evolutions. Maintain plant housekeeping and operational readiness standards. Ensure adherence to nuclear safety, industrial safety, and radiological controls. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of commercial nuclear plant Operations experience.

Previous experience as:

Non-Licensed Operator (NLO) Auxiliary Operator (AO) Equipment Operator (EO) Nuclear Plant Operator Strong plant systems knowledge in a commercial BWR environment.

Experience performing:

Valve Operations System Lineups Equipment Clearances Plant Rounds Equipment Status Verification Ability to understand and execute clearance orders and work packages. Ability to read plant drawings and operating procedures. Ability to work rotating shifts. Ideal Candidate Strong field operator rather than supervisor. Comfortable spending the majority of the shift in the plant rather than behind a desk. Extensive experience operating valves and executing equipment lineups. Skilled at identifying equipment abnormalities and understanding system interactions. Able to independently perform field operations with minimal oversight.
