Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Water Operator and become a vital part of ensuring safe, reliable water services for the City of Mountain Home. In this energetic role, you will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot water treatment and distribution systems, repair leaks, replace cracked/broken pipes, install water taps, and read water usage meters. Your expertise will help uphold environmental standards, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and deliver clean water. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced control systems and heavy equipment in a fast-paced utility environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
  • Operation of large trucks and equipment
  • Construction equipment, materials, and methods of water distribution
  • Traffic hazards and traffic safety principles, practices, and procedures
  • Proper lifting techniques and personal protective equipment used in the operation of hand and power tools Ability to:
  • Comprehend and follow safety rules and regulations
  • Operate hand and power tools used in public works facility maintenance and repair
  • Communicate well with others, both orally and in writing, using both technical and non-technical language
  • Understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures and instructions
  • Operate light and medium-duty equipment and hand/power tools
  • Understand and follow effective safety practices and procedures. Requirements All candidates are required to pass the following to be considered for the above position:
  • Ability to pass a background check, driving record, and pre-employment drug/alcohol test
  • Possession of a driver's license issued by the State of Idaho
  • Obtain an Idaho Class I Water Distribution License within one year of eligibility Join us in delivering essential services that impact communities daily!

Pay:
$3,650.40 per month
