Job Description

The Otter Lake Water Commission operates a 3.5 MGD surface water treatment plant and a wholesale distribution system. We are currently accepting applications for a water plant operator. The successful candidate must have a valid driver's license. Previous water system experience is preferred but not required. The open position will require on-call, shift work and some weekends and holidays. Rate of pay is determined by the operators IL EPA certification level and relevant work experience, as follows: Class A
  • $ 27.56 Class B
  • $ 24.44 Class C
  • $ 23.92 Class D
  • $ 22.36 No experience $ 20.00
  • 21.32 Class A CDL with air brakes add $0.75 per hour to the above
  • when applies add $15 a day to paycheck for on-call.
Must be able to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds, climb steps and ladders, work in inclement weather, be willing to work holidays and weekends as required. Must pass a drug screening. Must obtain class D water certificate within 12 months. Able to take direction and provide feedback.
