Established in 2013, SUL4R-PLUS (S4+) is one of the leading fertilizer manufacturers serving the agriculture industry with a proven, patented Calcium Sulfate nutrient. S4+ recently completed construction on their newest manufacturing plant in Marissa, Illinois. Their original manufacturing plant is located in southern Louisville, and combined with the new Marissa location, S4+ will become one of the largest suppliers of secondary nutrients in North America.

Basic Function:

The Utility Operator assists with the safe and efficient operation of the

SUL4R-PLUS

® pelletizing manufacturing system at the Mill Creek facility. This role supports production operations through equipment operation, monitoring, quality testing, housekeeping, mobile equipment operation, and preventive maintenance activities. The Utility Operator is expected to build technical knowledge and operational proficiency to support higher-level operations.

• Learn, follow, and promote all

® safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and immediately report unsafe conditions or behaviors.
• Perform work in a manner that supports a safe and compliant work environment. Operational Support and Monitoring
• Assist with operation of the

SUL4R-PLUS

® plant and assigned process areas.

• Monitor designated areas of the plant, including hammer mill and screening areas, fluid bed area, weigh feeder area and dispersion dryer area,
• Identify and report developing upset conditions, abnormal operations, or equipment issues to the Pan Operator or Shift Supervisor. Equipment and Mobile Equipment Operation
• Operate mobile and support equipment, including skid steer, mini forklift, and vacuum truck, as assigned and trained.
• Perform general plant support tasks such as spotting trucks, handling materials, and supporting loading and unloading activities. Quality Support
• Perform scheduled quality checks on in-process and finished product, including SGN, UI, moisture, and bulk density.
• Record test results accurately using established forms and procedures.
• Communicate quality results to the Pan Operator or Shift Supervisor; this role does not independently adjust critical process parameters. Maintenance and Housekeeping
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance tasks as outlined in the maintenance program.
• Assist maintenance personnel as required.
• Maintain assigned work areas using 5S principles to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety.
• Perform general cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant. Training and Development
• Learn and develop an understanding of plant operations, including HMI computer controls, pan and pin operations, dispersion dryer operations, and fluid bed operations.
• Build skills and knowledge necessary to provide operational backup support to the Pan Operator. Work Schedule and Flexibility
• Work rotating schedules as required, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of experience in a manufacturing, construction, or industrial environment.
• General mechanical aptitude and familiarity with industrial equipment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Experience operating mobile equipment such as skid steers or forklifts preferred
• Exposure to automated or continuous-process manufacturing environments.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing safety systems and procedures.
• Willingness and ability to learn automated process control systems and plant operations.

Mental/Physical Demands:

• Frequent physical activity, including bending, lifting (up to 75 lbs.), twisting, standing, stooping, climbing, and handling materials.
• Manual dexterity and strong hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and humidity.
• Ability to work in noisy environments around large industrial equipment.
• Exposure to dust, fumes, airborne particles, electrical systems, and hazardous equipment; must consistently wear required PPE.
• Combination of indoor and outdoor industrial manufacturing environments.
• Rotating and flexible schedules required, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to work extended shifts, including 12-hour shifts.
