Job Description
Overview We have a career opportunity for a Master Operator Tech to join our team! The successful candidate will oversee daily operation of the eight primary gas and oil fired boilers, generators, water treatment, and incoming high voltage electric feeders to the steam plant including dispatching fuel required to maintain the fuel related expenses to the steam customers. You will communicate with Covanta to maximize steam output generated at Covanta. You will be responsible for maintaining the 600, 400, and 250 pound steam header pressures. Must field telephone calls from steam customers regarding steam pressure and temperature concerns and relay that information to the appropriate person for resolution.

Minimum Salary:
$60,900 (Grade 7) Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of gas and oil fired boilers, generators, plant switchgear, water treatment, and environmental equipment.
- Monitor plant operations, quality of steam, environmental compliance, maintain plant equipment
- Coordinate fuel usage, steam line outages, plant maintenance, and equipment overhaul with appropriate personnel
- Reporting and record keeping ( including recording information into shift log , entering data from Covanta , work orders
- Follow established procedures and establish procedure as necessary utilizing Microsoft Office Applications.
- Perform other operational job duties
- Perform technical and operational guidance to employees as needed Qualifications High school diploma of equivalent: (Machinist Mate of Boiler Technician) or technical training in a related field is preferred.
