Job Description

Major Job Duties The Certified Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and management of water treatment plants. This role ensures the water treatment processes comply with environmental regulations and standards. The operator will monitor and control the quality of water and wastewater, conduct routine inspections, and perform necessary maintenance to ensure the plant's smooth operation.
Pay Range:
$25-30/hour Primary Responsibilities Operate, maintain, and monitor equipment and processes to ensure proper operation Conduct regular test checks on chemical levels, water quality, and equipment operations Monitor water quality throughout the facility to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Quality control by performing routine testing of water to ensure compliance with regulations Compile and enter plant operation and water quality data into SAMS system for use in required reports Record and report accurate operational data and performance metrics Perform routine, corrective, and preventive maintenance on treatment equipment and systems, including minor electrical and mechanical repairs, SCADA system, and variable frequency drives Operate and maintain chemical feed pumps for accurate dosing Operate and maintain distribution systems, including line repairs, line locates, and general system maintenance Operate machinery and equipment related to distribution and treatment operations Prepare and submit MOR (Monthly Operating Reports) and water withdrawal reports as required Oversee grounds and building maintenance Respond to emergency situations and system failures Travel to assigned plants in the local area Work various shifts as the treatment plant operates 24/7 Adhere to safety protocols and procedures All other duties as assigned Personal Attributes Accuracy
