Job Description:

Ability to work rotating shift work as required to support the staffing of the facility Controls the operating systems at a facility for steam generation including, but not limited to condensate, feed water, boilers, turbine / generator, service water systems, fuel & ash handling, auxiliary systems, electrical distribution, fire systems, air pollution controls and various computer networks. Continuous monitoring of operational and emissions data. Must have a working knowledge of distributive control system (DCS) and continuous emission monitoring system (CEMS) and be able to read and interpret gauges, recorders, and alarm annunciators to quickly determine plant operating conditions. Must be able to promptly and effectively communicate plant conditions and take corrective actions as needed. Maintain up-to-date logs and perform calculations to determine any indications of abnormal operating conditions. The Plant Operator is responsible for notifying the Shift Supervisor of any abnormal conditions and dispatching field operators to take necessary corrective actions. Detect and respond to changing plant conditions for efficient operation with emphasis on maximizing plant safety, environmental compliance. The Plant Operator will monitor operating parameters and maintain direct communication with fuel (refuse) handling to ensure proper fuel mixture of boilers.
