Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES
This candidate will be responsible to provide day to day assistance to the steam plant operations and help provide a safe and productive operation. Areas of responsibility include Boilers, Steam Turbine Generation, Lime Kiln, and Water Treatment. The Utilities Shift Supervisor will have a newly upgraded Recovery Boiler that improves air emissions, as well as improve liquor firing rate.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Power Engineering field desired, however equivalent work experience in the operation of the Utilities Sector (includes boilers, evaporators, and steam turbine generation) can be suitable. A Maine state boiler operator's license is preferred, however if the candidate does not have one, they must be willing to take and gain boiler operator's license within 1 year of hiring. (Woodland Pulp will pay for you to gain this licensing.) Ability to work effectively with all groups of people Candidate needs to have strong communication skills, (i.e., interpersonal, written and verbal) Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a group to a quick decision or make a timely decision on their own. Able to multi-task efficiently under demanding circumstances Desired computer skills are Word & Excel, CMMS, Kronos or equivalent program (keeping track of pay and hours for hourly workers
