FV Recycling is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious, and self-motivated Plant Operator to join our Biloxi operations team in a part-time role. As a Plant Operator, you will be responsible for supporting daily plant operations, assisting with material handling and inventory management, maintaining facility cleanliness, completing operational paperwork, and ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently. This role works closely with drivers and operations personnel to support the smooth flow of materials through the facility while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. The Plant Operator must be flexible, detail-oriented, and willing to assist with a variety of operational tasks as needed.
Responsibilities:
Load and unload trailers using a clamp lift forklift and other equipment as required. Receive, handle, and process incoming and outgoing materials safely and efficiently. Complete operational paperwork, including bills of lading (BOLs), mill entry passes, and related documentation. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory tracking activities. Perform basic data entry tasks, including sending emails and updating spreadsheets. Support loading operations to ensure incoming trucks are unloaded and outgoing shipments are completed in a timely manner. Work closely with FV Recycling drivers and other operations personnel to support daily facility operations. Maintain facility grounds and work areas by sweeping, cleaning, and addressing minor housekeeping needs. Assist with basic site maintenance tasks, including weed control around the facility. Monitor operational activities and communicate any issues or concerns to management. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and protocols. Assist with additional operational duties and special projects as assigned to support the facility's needs. Position Details Part-time position working approximately 18 to 30 hours per week. Typically scheduled 2 to 3 days per week based on operational needs. Workdays may vary and require flexibility in scheduling. Standard hours are generally 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; however, additional time may be required to complete loading and unloading activities when necessary. No weekend work required. Off major holidays; holiday pay is not provided. No benefits associated with this position. Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and may involve exposure to hot and cold weather conditions. Water and climate-controlled office space are available as needed.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Previous forklift experience preferred; ability to learn and safely operate a clamp lift forklift required. Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email and spreadsheets. Strong attention to detail and accuracy when completing paperwork and inventory tracking activities. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Dependable, adaptable, and willing to assist with a variety of operational responsibilities. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work safely in a fast-paced operational environment. Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical labor associated with warehouse and plant operations.
