Job Description
The City of Minot is accepting applications for the position of Water Treatment Plant Operator I located in either Max at the Biota Water Plant or the Minot Water Treatment Plant. With an application deadline of Tuesday, July 28th 2026. This position is open to all qualified internal and external applicants.
All applicants will be required to complete an online Civil Service Exam. The exam link will be sent via Test Genius to the email address provided on the application.
Possession of a valid North Dakota Driver License.
Possession of or ability to obtain, within probationary period, a North Dakota Commercial Driver License with proper endorsements. Compensation and BenetsThe assigned salary range for the position of Water Plant Operator I under the 2026 City of Minot Annual Pay Plan is a Grade 50, which is $20.96 per hour- $31.11 per hour or $43,593- $64,713 annually.
This is a full time, FLSA Non-Exempt position eligible for overtime.

Employees in this class will work under direct and continuing supervision of an administrative superior until receiving a Grade I certification from the North Dakota State Department of Environmental Quality.
