Equipment Operator I is responsible for operating dump trucks to haul sand, gravel, cement, stone, dirt, and other materi- als on highway construction projects. During the winter, this position will operate truck to spread sand or salt on icy roads, hauling snow to a dumping point, and plowing snow. Other jobs include making minor repairs to trucks, construction pro
- jects, and driving a power tractor for mowing grass.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year of experience in the operation of a truck requiring a Class B license to operate.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Eligibility and possession of a CDL Class B License with no air brake restrictions issued by the New York State De
- partment of Motor Vehicles at time of appointment,
- In Albany County Department of Public Works, the operator must be able to operate a standard transmission.
NOTE:
One (1) year of public works experience can be substituted for the one (1) year experience in the operation of a truck re- quiring a Class B license to operate.
