Neville Chemical Company is a leading manufacturer of low molecular weight thermoplastic and liquid resins that serve a wide variety of applications in the Coatings, Adhesives, Ink and Rubber industries. As the Utility Supervisor , you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the performance of hourly employees to ensure the 24x7 production of saturated steam from the boiler house, efficient operation of the wastewater plant, and constant operation of the Groundwater Remediation Unit. Your role involves providing detailed instructions to hourly employees in accordance with standard operating procedures, monitoring their performance closely, and allocating work efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct and supervise hourly employees to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures. Ensure there is constant steam production from the boilers and monitor process conditions at wastewater to prevent any pollution discharge to the Ohio River. Initiate, document, and thoroughly investigate all accidents, injuries, safety violations, and poor work performances in compliance with established guidelines. Manage labor relations with hourly employees in alignment with labor agreements and company policies, addressing issues related to overtime, seniority, and work responsibilities. Coordinate the preparation, issuance, and collection of data from log sheets. Record necessary utility data from log sheets and data historians into spreadsheets for regulatory compliance. Detect and perform simple diagnosis of field equipment issues. Submit detailed work orders for maintenance to repair/remedy equipment issues. Safely lock and tag out equipment and prepare safe work permits to hand over equipment to maintenance staff. Manage hourly workforce scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels for each shift. Act as the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) support staff during facility emergencies, enforcing environmental policies and procedures to comply with company policies and federal/state regulations. Proactively prevent incidents, including injuries, spills, fires, and operational errors, by fostering a culture of safety and health awareness among supervised personnel.

Basic Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED 3-5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility

Preferred Requirements:

Prior supervision experience in a union environment Prior wastewater or boiler House experience Prior experience with boiler instrumentation Experience with email and other management software.

Other Qualifications:

Primarily a daylight position, but willingness to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays if necessary. Ability to work outdoors and navigate the plant area Must obtain a Coast Guard Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC®).
