About Phoenix Mechanical Integrity Services:
Phoenix Mechanical Integrity Services is a premier provider of non-destructive testing and industrial inspection services in the Houston area. We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious Level I Radiographic Testing (RT) Assistant to join our growing field operations team. In this role, you will work directly alongside experienced Level II Technicians to perform high-quality industrial radiographical inspections while upholding strict safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Setup & Execution:
Assist Level II RT Technicians in setting up, operating, and tearing down radiographic testing equipment safely and efficiently.
Radiation Safety & Compliance:
Help establish, monitor, and maintain strict radiation safety barricades, perimeter boundaries, and warning equipment on industrial job sites.
Darkroom & Film Processing:
Assist in the operation, maintenance, and chemical handling for darkroom film processors and developing equipment.
Equipment Transport & Care:
Safely transport NDT equipment, isotopes, darkroom gear, and field materials to and from job sites. Maintain daily equipment cleanliness and inventory.
Safety Protocols:
Adhere strictly to company safety binders, client facility rules, OSHA standards, and state/federal radiation control regulations at all times.
Requirements:
Card Requirement:
Valid State Radiographer Trainee Card (or IRRSP certification ) is required . (Applications without a valid card will not be considered).
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of documented experience as an RT Assistant/Trainee in the NDT industry.
Driver's License:
Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean, acceptable driving record.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift/carry up to 50+ lbs, climb structures, work long hours, and operate in tough industrial/outdoor environments.
Mindset:
Strong work ethic, reliable attendance, excellent attention to detail, and a uncompromising commitment to radiation safety.

Day shift / Night shift / Overtime as required by field project demands.
Work Location:
In-person (Houston facility & surrounding job sites).
Pay:
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour
