Rate and Compensation The successful candidate may be offered a position in either the Equipment Operator or Senior Equipment Operator classification. The target hourly rate for the Equipment Operator is between $22.86 - $27.44; depending on qualifications. The target hourly rate for the Senior Equipment Operator is between $25.21 - $31.51; depending on qualifications. Depending on qualifications, you may be hired as a Public Works Equipment Operator or Senior Public Works Equipment Operator, where you'll: Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to a backhoe, skid steer, excavator, and concrete truck. Support critical maintenance and construction projects to ensure the safe, efficient delivery of public services. Apply advanced technical expertise, lead work activities, and help develop effective solutions for complex operational challenges (Senior level).
