JOB TITLE

Plant Operator

FUNCTION

Under the direction of Plant Manager, Plant Operator preforms railcar unloading, truck loading, and other plant work as instructed.

REPORTING TO

Plant Manager

KEY ACTIVITIES

• Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values;
• Operate the truck loading system and rail unloading system in a safe and efficient manner;
• Operate a rail car mover as needed following safety measures;
• Participate in plant safety walkthroughs and inspections;
• Conduct equipment inspections;
• Assist in the maintenance of equipment;
• Maintain a safe work environment;
• Communicate with plant supervisors to accomplish the daily work plan;
• Occasional extended hours and weekend shifts; and
• Perform other duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions;
• Problem solving skills;
• Ability to communicate clearly;
• Works well with others;
• Able to lead by example;
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites;
• Knowledge of all plant equipment including stationary and rolling stock preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
• Experience in safety sensitive positions preferred;
• Experience with railcar and truck unloading equipment preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to move up to 100 lbs. repetitively;
• Frequent bending, standing, lifting, climbing, and ongoing physical activity;
