Now Hiring Plant Operator Ur-Energy Shirley Basin | Non-Exempt | Reports to Plant Manager Ur-Energy is hiring a Plant Operator at our Shirley Basin facility. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our uranium recovery plant and water and wastewater treatment systems. This is a shift work position if you are mechanically inclined, thrive in an industrial environment, and take pride in doing things the right way, we want to hear from you. What you'll do Monitor and operate the uranium recovery plant via DCS or manual controls Operate water and wastewater treatment systems including reverse osmosis, solids removal, and filtration Collect process samples and perform basic lab functions to inform plant operations Respond to operating alarms and make real-time adjustments to flow rates and tank levels Maintain accurate operations records, logbooks, and inspection paperwork Utilize flow meters, pressure gauges, and other monitoring instruments to optimize performance Perform resin transfers to and from haul trailers Identify maintenance needs and communicate them to your supervisor Complete minor repairs and piping adjustments as needed Coordinate with wellfield operators and facility crews to maintain safe, productive operations Keep the plant clean, orderly, and free of hazards What you'll bring High school diploma or GED; or 36 months of related experience or an equivalent combination Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of pump operation, fluid flow, and piping systems Ability to operate pumps, filters, and equipment manually or via DCS Basic math skills and ability to follow written, oral, and diagram-based instructions Strong communication skills comfortable working with a wide range of people Ability to pass respirator fit testing (required for this role) A note on the work environment This role involves regular physical activity including walking, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 75 lbs. You will work in an industrial setting with exposure to mechanical equipment, chemicals, and moderate to loud noise. There is potential for exposure to low-level radiation. Candidates must be able to pass respirator fit testing prior to starting.
