Printer Technician / Field Services Technician Greater Los Angeles Area | 3+ Month Contract | Up to $34.50/hr | On-Site (multiple sites) We are seeking Printer Technicians / Field Services Technicians for a large-scale printer and print services project in the Greater Los Angeles area. This role will focus heavily on the initial planning and assessment phase , including printer inventory, asset management, site surveys, documentation, mapping, and identifying devices for relocation, deployment, replacement, or decommissioning. The ideal candidate has experience with MPS, printer deployments, print management, field services, asset tracking, and large-scale technology projects . Strong attention to detail is critical, as technicians will be responsible for accurately documenting printer assets and updating project maps and spreadsheets. Key Responsibilities Perform on-site printer and MPS assessments across multiple buildings and facilities Locate and identify printers throughout assigned sites Collect and document printer asset information , including serial number, IP address, printer name, model, location, and other required details Use printer consoles to identify basic device information and perform basic configuration checks Photograph and physically label printers for identification and project tracking Identify printers requiring relocation, replacement, deployment, or decommissioning Update site maps, floor plans, spreadsheets, asset databases, and project documentation Maintain accurate printer asset management and inventory records Assist with the installation and deployment of new or replacement MPS devices Stage and prepare new printers, including physical setup, configuration, testing, and labeling Perform basic device configuration and connectivity checks Wipe applicable legacy devices prior to decommissioning Manage assigned tickets through systems such as ServiceNow , including updates and closure Provide post-deployment support to users as needed, including basic device and software assistance Maintain accurate documentation throughout the project Lift, carry, move, and transport printer and related equipment as required Required Skills & Experience 3-5 years of experience in printer/print services, field services, desktop deployment, or large-scale technology deployments 3-5 years of Print Management / MPS experience preferred Experience with printer deployments, installations, troubleshooting, maintenance, and asset management Experience conducting technology or printer site surveys and assessments Strong knowledge of printer hardware, networking, and basic device configuration Ability to access a printer console and identify information such as device name, IP address, model, and serial number Experience with ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Excellent documentation and data-entry skills Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately track large numbers of assets Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven project environment HP printer experience or certification is a plus Ideal Background Candidates with experience as a Printer Technician, Field Services Technician, Print Services Technician, MPS Technician, Desktop Deployment Technician, Field Support Technician, or IT Asset Technician are encouraged to apply. Additional Requirements Must have a valid, clean driver's license Must have access to a reliable, roadworthy vehicle Must be comfortable traveling between multiple local sites Must be able to lift, carry, and transport printer equipment What We're Looking For This is a detail-heavy field services project where accurate inventory and documentation are just as important as technical skills.
