Lead UV Flatbed Operator —

Los Angeles, CA (on-site) About the role We (a Los Angeles printing studio) is hiring a lead operator for a SwissQ UV flatbed printer. This is a demanding position, requiring an experienced technician: you will own the machine day to day — production, output quality, maintenance, and workflow. We produce high-end work for a demanding clientele, and print quality is the product. We are looking for someone who takes real pride in calibrating the machine and keeping quality high. We are not a commercial or high volume printer. What you'll do Run daily production on a large-format SwissQprint UV flatbed, managing jobs from file to finished piece.

Own print quality:

color, density, ink, and substrate handling across a wide range of rigid and flexible media. Perform routine and preventative maintenance, and handle first-line troubleshooting and calibration to keep the machine in spec. Coordinate with SwissQprint-authorized technicians for scheduled service and any repairs beyond in-house scope. Manage substrates, inks, and consumables, and keep the print area organized and production-ready. Work directly with studio staff and clients on specifications, proofing, and problem-solving. Keep accurate maintenance and production records. What you need Hands-on SwissQprint experience is required — minimum 9-18 months operating and maintaining a SwissQprint UV flatbed (Nyala, Kudu, Impala, Karibu, or similar). Strong command of UV flatbed production: substrate handling, white/varnish workflows, and color management. Experience in Caldera RIP or a very similar software. Mechanical aptitude and comfort with routine maintenance, calibration, and diagnostics. A high bar for quality and the patience to hit it consistently. Reliability, organization, and the ability to run a department with minimal oversight. Nice to have Background in fine art, photographic, or high-end commercial printing. Familiarity with finishing, mounting, or fabrication workflows.
