They work in the printing industry, ensuring that all artwork, images, and text are correctly formatted and ready for production. This can involve several tasks, such as:
File Preparation:
Ensuring that files are in the correct format, resolution, and color profile for printing.
Proofing and Quality Control:
Checking for errors in the files (like color issues, resolution problems, or text mistakes) and ensuring they are properly proofed before going to print.
Prepress Software Use:
Utilizing specialized software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, or RIP software) to prepare files for print.
Plate Creation:
In traditional printing, prepress operators may create printing plates or films that are used to transfer the image onto the printing press. Their work is crucial for maintaining the quality of the final printed product, whether it's brochures, books, posters, or packaging. Prepare and calibrate machinery for printing and other tasks. Operate machinery and maintain press to meet product specifications. Check printed material for proper color and other aesthetics. Examine and interpret blueprints and sketches for product specifications. Calibrate and conduct repairs and modifications on machinery. Follow all safety protocols. Ensure proper maintenance, safety, and functioning of all equipment. Press Operator Shift Info Day Shift, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday - Friday Press Operator Qualifications (Requirements/Skills) Press Operator experience Able to work in the US Able to pass a background check Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen GED / High School Diploma Previous experience in a prepress or related printing environment is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Hybrid software, and prepress workflows. Experience with RIP software (e.g., EFI Fiery, Esko Automation Engine) is a plus. Attention to
Detail:
Exceptional accuracy in file preparation and proofing.
Problem-Solving:
Strong ability to troubleshoot file issues and offer practical solutions under tight deadlines.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and clients.
Knowledge of Printing Processes:
