If this sounds like the kind of place you want to be, read on! About the Role Curtis Packaging is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pre-Press System Specialist to join our Printing team. This role is essential to ensure that customer artwork is accurately prepared, processed, and delivered to production according to our high-quality standards. The position of the Pre-Press System Specialist is to prepare customer files (1ups) from the Account Manager to Curtis Packaging specifications. This is a hands-on technical role—not a design position—and requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a commitment to precision. Key Responsibilities Prepare 1-up files according to internal specifications, including: Understanding fonts, trapping, knockouts, LAB values, density, cut-back curves, masks, color corrections, bleeds, TIFF interpretation, and screen values Converting spot colors to four-color process Using a spectrophotometer for color accuracy Perform Step-and-Repeat according to job layouts Execute plate making and related pre-press functions Produce proofs and print vinyls/blankets for the printing department Conduct basic file and image corrections Collaborate with team members and work independently to meet production schedules Minimum Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent Experience Minimum of 3 years in a printing or packaging pre-press environment Required Skills Experience with Esko Workflow / Automation Engine (plus) Artpro+ experience (plus) Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop Knowledge of color theory, G7 methodology, and offset printing Understanding of production job layout Strong Mac operator skills Working Conditions This role operates in both office and controlled manufacturing environments with lifting over 15 lbs required
Pay:
$32.00 - $42.00 per hour
