Copier Technicians are responsible for receiving and processing graphic design and layout projects ranging from routine, single-color documents to complex, four-color process publications. They receive requests for graphics and display and conduct research based on the intended use of the materials being produced. Copier Technicians provide prompt, economical, and accurate graphic design, printing, and exhibit services. They must remain current with industry standards and best practices related to customer printing and publication needs, design and page layout, text and typography styles, color and graphic design, paper selection, printing production techniques, and binding and finishing methods. Responsibilities Develop visual concepts for books, booklets, brochures, trifolds, cards, posters, and reports, ensuring all materials align with printing standards and customer requirements. Determine layout, typography, color schemes, and production methods for both routine and complex print projects. Prepare files for high-speed digital printing by conducting pre-flight checks and converting documents to print-ready formats, ensuring accuracy and adherence to production standards. Utilize a range of design and production software applications, including Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), MS Office Suite, and Kodak Smartboard, to produce high-quality print and digital assets. Operate and oversee the use of advanced digital printing equipment such as the Xerox Iridesse, Xerox Versant V180P, and Kodak Digimaster HD150, ensuring proper setup and quality output.
