Job Description
Answers to: General Manager This position is for a pressure sensitive label, flexible packaging, and shrink sleeve graphic designer / pre-press operator. You will be setting up, converting, and verifying customer files to print properly on digital presses. The ideal candidate should have experience with the latest version of Adobe Illustrator and other Adobe software. Troubleshooting problem files and determining solutions to make them print-ready is a primary function of this position. Essential Job Functions
- Receive customer art files and verify they are set up properly for press.
- Create color separations in artwork for White Ink, Spot UV etc
- Generate digital proofs for customer approval.
- Receive information, ideas, design requests, and written and verbal direction from CSR and customers to then create or alter artwork to their needs.
- Prepare custom dielines as needed based on customer artwork or provided containers.
- Review work orders and submit files to the press with the proper specifications.
- Promote a safety-oriented culture.
- Other duties as requested. Requirements
- Experience with the latest version of Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat, and Photoshop.
- Ability to manipulate files in the aforementioned programs (adjust size, change colors, etc.)
- Knowledge of CMYK vs RGB and Pantone spot colors.
- Minimum of 1 - 2 years prior experience in graphic design. Preferred
- Experience with applications such as: ESKO, Hybrid software, Microsoft Suite (including PowerPoint), Adobe InDesign, and other Creative Cloud software.
- Knowledge of the difference between Process Black, Rich Black, Pantone Black, and Registration Color.
- Experience with automation using actions or scripts.
- Experience with print processes such as spot color separations, overprint, variable data printing, and RIP softwares Candidate must possess exceptional attention to detail knowledge of artwork design and setup as it relates to the label printing industry
