Job Description
Production Artist Scorpion Graphics, Inc - 2.0 Chicago, IL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $18 - $25 an hour 17 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Qualifications Customer communication Embroidery Attention to detail Graphic design software Print quality checks Organizational skills Collaboration with manufacturing teams Proofreading Screen printing Layout design Full Job Description Production Artist / Screen Print Art Setup Specialist We are looking for a detail-oriented Production Artist to join our screen printing team. This position is ideal for someone who understands both the creative side of design and the technical side of preparing artwork for production. The right person must be comfortable working in a fast-paced print environment where accuracy, communication, and attention to detail are just as important as creativity. Responsibilities include setting up customer art proofs, preparing artwork for customer approval, checking spelling and layout details, adjusting art placement, creating clean production-ready files, and separating artwork for screen printing. You should be able to take customer-supplied artwork and turn it into a professional proof that clearly shows print location, size, ink colors, garment color, and any important production notes. Strong skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop are required . Applicants should be comfortable working with vector artwork, raster files, PDFs, logos, fonts, color separations, spot colors, underbases, and print-ready layouts. Design ability is also important, as some jobs may require cleanup, recreation, layout improvement, or basic creative judgment before the proof is sent to the customer. This position requires a strong eye for detail. Proofs must be reviewed carefully for spelling, placement, garment color, ink color, sizing, and overall presentation before being sent for approval. Great communication skills are a must, since this role works closely with sales, production, customers, and the screen room to make sure jobs are clear and ready to print. Previous experience in textile screen printing, embroidery, promotional products, or decorated apparel is a strong plus. Experience with screen print separations, halftones, underbases, trapping/choking, and production art setup is highly preferred. We are willing to consider a strong production artist with excellent Illustrator/Photoshop skills, but direct screen printing experience will be given priority. We are looking for someone dependable, organized, and capable of handling multiple jobs while maintaining accuracy. This is not just a graphic design position; it is a production-focused art role where the final files need to work in the real world of screen printing.
