Baton Rouge, LA Job Details Contract | Freelance 18 hours ago Qualifications DSLR cameras Weekend in-home care experience Live event videography Visual media white balance correction Ability to follow instructions Full Job Description Freelance Camera Operator (High School Sports) Varsity Sports Now is seeking skilled and reliable Freelance Camera Operators to capture high-quality footage of high school sporting events. This is a per-game/event contract position offering a great opportunity for individuals with a passion for sports and experience in videography.
Responsibilities:
Operate camera equipment (provided by Varsity Sports Now) to capture dynamic and engaging footage of live sporting events. Follow the director's instructions and shot list to ensure proper coverage of the game. Maintain steady camera operation and smooth movements, avoiding shaky or jerky footage. Capture key moments of the game, including plays, scores, and reactions from players, coaches, and fans. Ensure proper focus, exposure, and framing of shots. Set up and tear down camera equipment as needed. Communicate effectively with the director and other crew members. Arrive on time and prepared for each event.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a camera operator, preferably in a live sports environment. Familiarity with sports broadcasting principles and techniques. Ability to operate various types of cameras (e.g., professional camcorders, DSLRs with video capabilities). Understanding of camera settings, including focus, exposure, white balance, and aperture. Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team. Excellent hand-eye coordination and smooth camera operation skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays to accommodate game schedules. Passion for high school sports is a plus. Reliable transportation to and from event locations.
Equipment:
Varsity Sports Now will provide the necessary camera equipment for the events. The Camera Operator must be proficient in using the provided equipment.
Contract Terms:
This is a per-game/event contract position. Compensation will be on a per-game or per-event basis, with rates to be negotiated and agreed upon prior to each event. The contract will outline the scope of services, payment terms, and other relevant details.
