Pre-press Designer Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pre-press Designer to join our creative team. The Pre-press Designer will be responsible for preparing and optimizing digital files for print production, ensuring accurate and high-quality output. This role requires a strong understanding of design principles, print production processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and evaluate design files to ensure they meet print production standards, including color accuracy, resolution, and file formats.
  • Prepare and optimize digital files for print production, including image retouching, color correction, and file conversion.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers and creative teams to ensure design files are print-ready and meet client specifications.
  • Conduct pre-flight checks on design files to identify and resolve any potential issues or errors before sending them to print.
  • Work closely with print vendors and suppliers to communicate job specifications, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely and accurate production.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of print production processes, including various printing techniques, paper stocks, and finishing options.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in pre-press technology, software, and workflows.
  • Adhere to project timelines and deadlines while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and best practices for the pre-press department.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field Preferred.
  • Proven experience working as a Pre-press Designer or in a similar role within a print production environment.
  • Proficient in industry-standard design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong knowledge of pre-press techniques, color management, file formats, and print production processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot errors or inconsistencies in design files.
  • Solid understanding of typography, layout, and composition principles.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Familiarity with different printing techniques, such large format printing.
