Working across color output, digital printing, and cutting technologies, this role helps ensure consistent, accurate, and high-quality output by managing print workflow software, supporting color reproduction standards, and optimizing prepress processes. As a technical liaison between various departments, the Print Technology Specialist provides documentation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support while identifying opportunities to improve print technologies, workflows, and overall production quality.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Print Workflow Systems Management Develop, maintain, support, and optimize prepress, print workflow and color management software, including Durst Workflow and PrintFactory Configure and optimize print automation, job processing workflows, imposition and cut strategies, and ERP integration in partnership with the ERP Administrator Test, evaluate, and implement print and color management software updates, new features, and workflow improvements Partner with the Director of Technology and software vendors to troubleshoot workflow issues, resolve bugs, and improve print management software performance Ensure reliable integration between print workflow systems and production processes Create and maintain workflow documentation, system configurations, and operating procedures Provide training and guidance to prepress, production and project management teams on print workflow software, automations, and tools Color Management and Print Quality Monitor and optimize color output across all digital printing equipment to ensure consistent color accuracy and print quality Develop, test, implement, and update color management processes Create and maintain ICC profiles, linearization curves, calibration routines and specialized print channel configurations, including white ink, neon ink, raised ink, and varnish applications Perform color matching for brand colors, spot colors, and customer-specific requirements Assist in evaluating new print media, substrates, products, and production methods Document color management processes, color standards, and print configurations Train and support production and project management teams on color reproduction standards and processes Support the achievement and maintenance of G7+ color output certification
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED 3+ years of experience in prepress, print workflow, print management/RIP software, and color management Demonstrated experience with large-format inkjet and/or dye-sublimation print systems Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and PDF tools in a production print environment Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in graphic arts/design, print technology, or a related field 5+ years of experience in prepress, print workflow, print management/RIP software, and color management Experience with PrintFactory, Durst Workflow, Caldera, or similar RIP/print workflow software Experience with Durst and/or swissQprint production printers and Zünd cutting systems Knowledge of or certification in advanced color management standards (e.g., G7+)
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time, on-site position based in a production environment. The role includes work in both office and manufacturing settings, with moderate to occasionally loud noise levels near production equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday. Occasionally lift and move materials or equipment up to 50 pounds. Requires close vision, color vision, and the ability to distinguish fine detail for color-critical print production.
