Job Description
Minuteman Press is seeking a hands-on Digital Print Operator who also brings solid graphic design skills and the ability to communicate clearly with customers. This is a production-first position. You will run digital presses daily, prepare and correct files, operate finishing equipment, and speak directly with customers about their print and design needs to ensure projects are produced accurately and efficiently. Pure designers or operators without both design and technical skills will not be a fit. Key Responsibilities Communicate directly with customers regarding their print and design needs, explain options, and clarify project details Produce high-quality print, promotional, and design projects Perform daily setup, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of printing and finishing equipment Prepare and preflight customer files for print (bleeds, color, resolution, imposition) Make necessary graphic adjustments in Adobe Creative Suite to correct files and improve print results Collaborate with management and customer service team to meet deadlines and resolve production issues Maintain clean, organized, and safe working areas Must-Have Qualifications Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers about print and design requirements, adjustments, and recommendations Hands-on experience operating commercial digital printing and finishing equipment Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop for file preparation and corrections Strong understanding of print production fundamentals (CMYK, resolution, bleed, color management, common file problems) Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks (lifting paper and supplies, typically up to 40-50 lbs) Proven ability to manage multiple jobs, prioritize under deadlines, and maintain consistent quality Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment Strongly Preferred Prior experience in a print shop or quick-print environment (Minuteman Press, FedEx Office, or similar) Familiarity with specific digital press platforms (Xerox, HP, Konica Minolta, Ricoh, etc.) Experience with basic finishing equipment or large-format printing Experience with variable data and basic imposition software Ability to perform light original design work when needed If you are enthusiastic, take pride in quality work, and you are looking for a great opportunity in an exciting industry, we'd like to hear from you.
