This role requires sharp attention to detail, pre-flight file verification, and hands-on finishing work to ensure all projects meet exact client specifications and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
Printer Operation & Production Operate wide-format print systems including roll-to-roll, flatbed, UV, solvent, and latex printers. Load and handle a variety of substrates such as vinyl, foam core, acrylic, and cardboard stock Monitor print quality continuously to detect and correct issues like banding, color shifts, or alignment errors. Pre-Press & File Verification Review digital files using RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Caldera, Fiery) to manage layout, nesting, tiling, and color profiles. Inspect incoming artwork for correct resolution, dimensions, bleed, and color formatting (CMYK vs. Pantone). Finishing & Post-Production Perform finishing duties including weeding vinyl, laminating, and operating digital cutters (e.g., Zünd, Kongsberg, or Summa cutters). Trim and pack finished items securely to prevent damage during shipping or installation. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Execute routine machine maintenance such as daily nozzle checks, printhead cleanings, and calibrations. Troubleshoot minor mechanical failures and coordinate with manufacturer technicians for major repairs. Maintain a clean shop environment and safely handle print chemicals, inks, and sharp tools.
Skills & Qualifications Experience:
1-3 years of experience operating digital large-format or wide-format printing equipment preferred.
Software Knowledge:
Proficiency with RIP software and basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
Technical Math:
Ability to read a tape measure accurately, calculate proportions, and convert fractions/decimals.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and handle heavy rolls of media.
Detail-Oriented:
Exceptional eye for color accuracy, alignment, and structural defects.
Pay:
$24.00 - $28.00 per hour
