Summary Of Position Under the direction of the Laser Supervisor, the Brake Press Operator operates manual brake presses and punch presses to form and bend a variety of materials. Responsible for part quality and efficiency. Responsibilities This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Operate brake press and punch press to form, bend and punch a variety of work Work from drawings, specifications, patterns, or templates Use scale, protractor, fixed angle and radii gauges Sorting and packaging parts Verify quantity & quality of material Operates overhead crane while moving product Maintains a safe & clean work environment & departmental housekeeping standards Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required. Highly motivated self starter Requires 6-12 months of relevant manufacturing experience Good math skills Basic reading & writing skills Strong attention to detail Ability to function well in a team environment Ability to respond to ever changing demands with a positive attitude Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required talk or hear and may occasionally sit; regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
