Job Description
We are seeking an experienced CNC Punch Press Operator to set up and operate CNC punch press equipment in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on CNC punch press experience , strong blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to produce precision sheet metal components according to engineering specifications. The CNC Punch Press Operator is responsible for machine setup, tooling, production runs, inspection of completed parts, and maintaining quality and productivity standards. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC punch press machines to manufacture sheet metal components. Review blueprints, work orders, drawings, and specifications before beginning production. Select, install, and properly align punches, dies, and tooling required for each job. Load and unload sheet metal and material from the machine. Perform machine setups, including tooling changes and adjustments. Verify machine programs and make minor adjustments as necessary. Monitor machine operation to ensure parts are produced according to specifications. Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other inspection equipment. Verify dimensions, hole locations, tolerances, and overall part quality. Identify and troubleshoot basic machine, tooling, or quality issues. Remove burrs and perform minor finishing of parts when required. Complete production documentation and accurately record quantities produced. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform routine machine inspections and basic preventive maintenance. Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing quality standards. Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and other departments to resolve manufacturing issues. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience operating and setting up CNC punch press equipment required. Previous experience working in a sheet metal or precision manufacturing environment. Ability to independently perform CNC punch press setups and tooling changes. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions. Experience using precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers. Understanding of dimensional tolerances and basic manufacturing inspection requirements. Ability to identify basic machine and tooling problems. Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts. Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating equipment such as Amada, Trumpf, Murata, or similar CNC punch press machines . Experience working with aluminum, stainless steel, and other sheet metal materials. Familiarity with CNC programming or the ability to make minor program adjustments. Aerospace, defense, or other precision manufacturing experience preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and operate machinery for extended periods. Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to approximately 40 pounds. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive manufacturing tasks. Ability to safely handle sheet metal, tooling, and production materials.
