Press Brake Operator

Structural fabrication shop is searching for an experienced Press Brake Operator to join their manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with press break or similar machinery, and a commitment to safety standards. Shop is willing to train as long as you have similar experience working with machinery. This position offers an excellent opportunity to grow with the company and cross train to learn how to operate several machines. Machinery (in fabrication environments) experience is a needed.

Daily Responsibilities:

Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending of sheet metal according to technical drawings and specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine proper tooling and machine settings. Conduct routine inspections of finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions meet specifications. Perform basic maintenance on press brake equipment, including tooling adjustments and troubleshooting mechanical issues. Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure components meet quality standards before proceeding to subsequent manufacturing stages. Utilize hand tools, tooling, cranes, and forklifts as necessary for material handling and setup. Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols related to machinery operation and material handling. Support quality inspection processes by identifying defects or deviations from specifications during production runs. Assist in the setup of CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, welding tasks, or electrical discharge machining (EDM) when required.

Skills Needed:

2 years experience operating machines inside a fabrication/ manufacturing environment. 1 year experience as a Press Break Operator is a plus. Strong mechanical knowledge related to sheet metal fabrication processes. Able to heavy lift comfortably. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Monday and Friday (Occasional Saturdays) 6:00am to 3:30pm $20.00 hourly What do you get in return?
