$17.75/hour Role Summary We are searching for a skilled Metal Forming Setup Technician to manage the configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of press brakes and single-station presses to create precise sheet metal parts. The ideal applicant will possess practical experience in machine setup, tooling installation, blueprint interpretation, and quality inspection within a fast-paced production setting. Backgrounds in custom fabrication, precision sheet metal, EMI shielding, or high-mix/low-volume production environments are highly valued. Primary Duties Execute full setups for press brakes and single-station presses. Position, align, and calibrate tooling for manufacturing cycles. Configure and run both hydraulic and mechanical press systems. Execute sheet metal fabrication and metal forming tasks. Manage the maintenance and setup of dies and tooling. Analyze and comprehend engineering drawings, work orders, and blueprints. Utilize precision measurement tools like height gauges, micrometers, and calipers. Conduct first-article checks to ensure part dimensions meet quality standards. Resolve tooling and machine issues to help reduce production downtime. Adjust machine and tooling settings during runs to ensure consistent part quality. Collaborate effectively with production, quality, tooling, and engineering departments. Contribute to production targets while upholding rigorous safety and quality standards. Execute routine preventative maintenance and document equipment concerns. Keep the workspace tidy, organized, and secure. Adhere to all organizational quality protocols, documentation standards, and work instructions. Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts. Handle additional tasks as requested. Required Qualifications At least 3 years of experience in setting up press brakes, single-station presses, or comparable forming machinery. Robust mechanical aptitude and problem-solving capabilities. Practical knowledge of sheet metal forming techniques. Proficiency in interpreting complex engineering drawings and blueprints. Skilled in the use of precision measurement instruments including calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. Familiarity with GD&T is considered an asset. Background in tool and die configuration. Experience with progressive forming is a plus. Strong focus on detail to ensure the production of high-quality components. Capacity to work autonomously while contributing to the broader production team. Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and maintain mobility (standing, bending, reaching) across the facility.
