Job Overview Unite Contracting is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. This is a permanent position with benefits. In this role, you will operate press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal components precisely and efficiently. Duties Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending according to technical drawings and specifications. Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication instructions to produce precise components. Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement instruments to verify quality. Adjust machine settings and tooling to achieve desired angles, dimensions, and tolerances. Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on press brake equipment to ensure optimal performance Collaborate with team members on tooling setup, machine operation, and quality control procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety protocols and manufacturing standards. Requirements Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication setting. Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of forming machines, tooling, and sheet metal fabrication processes. Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math for precise machining. Familiarity with CNC programming, CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and stamping presses is advantageous. Proficiency in measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision tools for quality inspection. Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocols. Basic math skills necessary for machining calculations and measurements Ability to operate hand tools, cranes, forklifts, and other shop equipment safely Mechanical knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding, forming, and assembly, is preferred.
