Job Description

A company in Grand Rapids is seeking a Brake Press Operator.
Shift:
days Monday-Thursday 5:00a-3:00pm some
Fridays Pay:
$21/hr. Job Duties
  • Operate the Brake Press and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators.
  • Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators.
  • Select proper die clearances based on material requirements.
  • Set up tooling, load programs, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment.
  • Determine condition of tools and point of re-sharpening.
  • Work in a fast paced environment with fast changing priorities.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Follow all company rules and policies.
  • Demonstrate a keen attention to detail and a task-focused approach.
Verify the dimensions of work pieces, seeking first-piece inspection approval. Effectively manage machine operations by entering commands or manually adjusting controls to rectify malfunctions or deviations from machining tolerances. Conduct regular quality inspections throughout production to ensure high standards. Skillfully identify, analyze, and address specific causes for rejected parts, contributing to a seamless and efficient production process. At least 2 years of proven Brake Press operation.
  • Brake Press set up experience is a Must.
  • Must be capable to read micrometers, calipers, and tape measure.
  • Experience with Amada Press Brake machines preferred, but not required
