Experienced Press Brake Operator Job Description We are seeking an Experienced Press Brake Operator to join a busy metal fabrication team. In this role, you will use your extensive press brake expertise to set up, program, and operate CNC equipment to produce high-precision metal components. You will work on complex forming applications, including bump forming, while consistently meeting strict quality, efficiency, and safety standards in a production environment. Responsibilities Set up, program, and operate CNC press brake machines to form metal components to precise tolerances. Perform bump forming and other advanced forming techniques according to job specifications and engineering requirements. Interpret and work from complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and detailed work orders to ensure accurate part production. Select appropriate tooling and make accurate adjustments based on material type, thickness, and required bend angles. Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and angle gauges to verify dimensional accuracy. Troubleshoot forming issues, identify root causes, and implement process improvements to enhance part quality and production efficiency. Perform routine machine maintenance and basic repairs to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. Collaborate closely with production and quality teams to meet schedules, maintain workflow, and support continuous improvement efforts. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work area in accordance with shop standards and procedures. Use hand tools and general fabrication equipment as needed to support forming and finishing operations. Essential Skills 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Press Brake Operator in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. Deep knowledge of CNC press brake operation, including setup, programming, and tooling selection. Demonstrated expertise in bump forming and complex forming operations for a variety of materials and thicknesses. Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders. Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and angle gauges, along with established quality inspection methods. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve forming and equipment issues. High attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality parts. Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment. Experience with hand tools and general fabrication processes in a metal fabrication shop. Comfort working with CNC controls and familiarity with G-code in a press brake context. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating press brake equipment in a metal fabrication shop environment, including Cincinnati press brakes. Experience in machine operation and metal fabrication, including forming and finishing processes. Ability to collaborate effectively with production and quality teams and communicate clearly about technical requirements. Welding or plasma cutting experience is a plus, but not required.
