Job Description

Job Title:
Press Brake Operator Job Description The Press Brake Operator is tasked with operating a CNC machine that forms and bends steel pieces based on work instructions. This role involves placing and removing steel sections from the machine while ensuring they meet specific specifications through continuous monitoring and measuring. Additionally, the operator is responsible for maintaining the work area to support production activities. Responsibilities Utilize a computer panel to operate CNC machinery for forming and bending steel. Place and remove steel sections on and off the machine. Monitor and measure material to ensure adherence to specifications. Maintain the work area to facilitate production activities. Operate an Acupress Press Brake efficiently. Safely load and unload steel plates onto the burn table using overhead cranes. Understand and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Conduct dimensional inspections of parts and verify quality requirements. Coordinate and program CNC controls, making necessary changes or recommendations. Ensure safe operation, care, and maintenance of shop equipment. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, grinders, and similar equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Proficiency in operating press brake and CNC machines. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Experience in tape measure usage, fabrication, and machine operation. Familiarity with shear press and sheet metal work. Skilled in using micrometers for precise measurements. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Acupress Press Brake is advantageous. Ability to safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts. Skills in conducting dimensional inspections and ensuring quality. Capability to make programming adjustments in CNC controls. Why Work Here? Operators will engage in shift work with a focus on safety, requiring adherence to proper attire and protocols. The environment encourages teamwork and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philomath, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
