Press Brake Operator Job Description The Press Brake Operator is responsible for utilizing a computer panel to operate a CNC machine that forms and bends pieces of steel according to work instructions. This role involves placing and removing sections of steel on and off the machine, while continuously monitoring and measuring material for adherence to specifications. The individual is also responsible for maintaining the work area to facilitate production activities. Responsibilities Operate a CNC press brake to form and bend steel components. Utilize overhead cranes to load and unload steel plates onto the burn table safely. Understand and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate production. Conduct dimensional inspections of parts to verify quality requirements. Coordinate proper programming with CNC controls, making necessary adjustments or recommendations for improvements. Ensure the safe operation, care, and maintenance of shop equipment. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, grinders, and related equipment. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Proficiency in operating press brake and shear press machines. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Experience with tape measures and micrometers for precision measurement. Capability to perform fabrication and machine operation tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Acupress Press Brake operation. Familiarity with sheet metal processing. Skill in using overhead cranes for material handling. Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philomath, OR. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
