Press Brake Operator Seventh Sense Cranston, RI Job Details Full-time $21 - $27 an hour 9 hours ago Qualifications Press brake machine English Forklift Shop math High school diploma or GED Manufacturing facility experience Materials handling Full Job Description The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for the daily setup and operation of hydraulic CNC-controlled press brakes (Accurpress) independently. The ideal candidate will use all available resources to perform assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner and should be flexible, as working hours may occasionally extend beyond regular business hours.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Set up and operate a hydraulic press or punch for routine, established work. Select correct tooling for job tasks using setup documents with minimal supervision. Load, install, and correctly set up required tools with minimal assistance. Perform assigned work within time standards and quality expectations. Accurately track time and work completed using an online data collection system. Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work. Make routine decisions and use problem-solving skills to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance when needed. Report and document material, production, and quality control issues. Maintain performance logbooks for assigned equipment and report deficiencies to the maintenance team. Participate in equipment preventative maintenance at the operator level. Measure dimensions and compare them to drawing specifications; must be able to pass a basic mathematics test. Follow all safety procedures and regulations. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Assist in other fabrication department tasks as needed, including shear and punching operations. Perform a wide range of physical activities such as pulling, reaching, bending, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. Lift up to 50 pounds. Stand for long periods of time.
Qualifications :
Strong background in tool/die work, metal press forming, and fabrication. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Knowledge and experience with fabrication, hydraulic presses, and/or punch operations (Accurpress Brake setup and operation strongly desired). Proficiency in dimensional measuring and the use of precision measurement tools. Competency in shop math. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other shop drawing aids. Familiarity with metal forming constraints (with guidance). Forklift operation experience.
Types of Press Brake Dies Used:
V-dies - Common for handling various materials and bend angles. 90-degree dies - Typically used for bottoming operations. Gooseneck (return-flanging) dies - Designed for clearance of pre-formed flanges. Offset dies - Used for forming Z-shaped bends in one stroke.
Additional Requirements :
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced, custom manufacturing environment. Strong work ethic with keen attention to detail.
Education:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Pay:
$21.00 - $27.00 per hour
