Duties Set up and operate CNC press brake machines to produce precise bends according to technical drawings and specifications Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine proper machine setup and tooling requirements Program CNC press brakes using CAD/CAM software or manual input to achieve desired angles and dimensions Conduct quality inspections using precision measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure parts meet strict tolerances Perform routine maintenance, tooling changes, and safety checks on press brake equipment to ensure optimal operation Collaborate with team members on sheet metal fabrication projects, including welding, forming, and assembly tasks when necessary Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of hand tools, measuring devices, and personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environment Skills Proficiency in CNC programming and operation of press brake machines with a strong understanding of machine setup and tooling selection Experience with CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) is a plus Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and shop math for precise fabrication Mechanical knowledge of forming machines, stamping presses, welding techniques, and sheet metal fabrication processes Skilled in measuring instruments for quality control and ensuring parts meet specified tolerances with high precision Familiarity with safety standards in manufacturing environments and adherence to safety protocols during machine operation Capable of using hand tools, tooling setups, and measuring devices efficiently for machining tasks Strong mechanical aptitude combined with problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and effectively Embark on a career where your craftsmanship makes an impact!
