Job Description
Press Brake Operator $18 - $19 / hr 1st shift Job Description This role focuses on operating modern brake press and punch press equipment to produce customized metal electrical enclosure boxes. You will work on a production floor fabricating sheet metal components that must be accurately bent, punched, drilled, and inspected to meet quality standards. Responsibilities Operate brake press equipment, including Euromac and newer model Armada brake presses, to form sheet metal parts according to specifications. Operate punch press and related production equipment to punch and drill holes in metal enclosure components. Build metal electrical enclosure boxes and other metal boxes by bending, punching, and drilling sheet metal parts to precise measurements. Use hand tools, shear, and shear press equipment as needed to cut and prepare sheet metal for fabrication. Read and interpret blueprints, when provided, to understand dimensions, tolerances, and fabrication requirements. Measure parts accurately using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools to verify conformance to specifications. Perform visual and dimensional inspections of fabricated parts to ensure quality and consistency in production. Handle and move raw materials and finished products, including lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks. Follow established production procedures and safety guidelines while working on the shop floor. Maintain a clean and organized work area and support overall production efficiency. Essential Skills Minimum 6 months of experience operating a brake press in a production or fabrication environment. Experience operating a punch press in a manufacturing or sheet metal setting. Ability to operate Euromac and Armada (newer model) brake press machines or similar equipment. Capability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly throughout the shift. Basic proficiency using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools for inspection and quality checks. Ability to read and follow production instructions and work orders accurately. Willingness to work a 1st shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled production environment with large fans for ventilation. Additional Skills & Qualifications At least 1 year of brake press experience is strongly preferred. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints is a plus. Experience in sheet metal fabrication and production work. Familiarity with shear and shear press operations. Experience using hand tools and general machine operation in a manufacturing environment. Basic understanding of inspection processes for production equipment and fabricated parts. Why Work Here? Work Environment This position is based in a non-climate-controlled production facility equipped with large fans throughout the site to provide airflow and ventilation. You will work on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, operating brake presses, punch presses, and related fabrication equipment on the shop floor. The environment is hands-on and physically active, requiring regular lifting of up to 50 pounds and consistent interaction with sheet metal, hand tools, and production machinery. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Garland, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
